February 2013 Update - Sherry Higgs to be Inducted Into Women's Hall of Fame
February 2013 update: Sherry Higgs was recently selected as an inductee in the Health Category for the 2013 Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame.
The awards ceremony and luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 23. For details and to purchase tickets to attend the awards ceremony, click this link.
In January the Oakland Tribune published an announcement of the event entitled "Firefighter, artist and scientist among 10 to join Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame on March 23".

NBC Bay Area reporter Gavin Thomas spent a day with our founder, Sherry Higgs, as she talked about her battle with cancer and how she came to realize the need for Drivers for Survivors. Drivers for Survivors Receives 501(c)(3) Status
Drivers for Survivors is now officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charitable organization ramping up to provide transportation and companion services for cancer patients.
DFS at Fremont Rotary
Fremont Rotary Club hosted speaker Sherry Higgs at its meeting Tuesday. She is chief executive officer and executive director of Drivers for Survivors Inc. A cancer survivor, Higgs launched a non-profit organization that helps drive cancer patients to their life-saving appointments. The non-profit finds, tests and teaches volunteers to drive cancer victims to their doctors’ offices.
